Raw Funk Update

As they stay better to be late than to never have arrived. Not sure how this translates to the raw funk blog but at this point any excuse is a good one!

It's been a while between posts. In all seriousness I've been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. So today I thought I should really pull the finger out and at least make the effort to post something useful.

In so far raw funk online games you should know by now that we also offer a great selection of free casino games and if you didn't know, we've just recently opened raw funk poker that also provides free online poker so you have no excuses to not be visiting the sites and playing your favourite online games.

In so far as the poker site, it has some great poker guides about the history and what not. It also has a section on Texas Hold'em which is one of the most popularly of online poker games played throughout the world. For those of you who maybe interested in playing but are not savvy with the rules & or the game of poker we now have a free poker tutor that takes you through all the rules & also explains some basic poker strategies too.

Right now we only offer a Texas Hold'em guide, however over the coming weeks we'll be adding the following:

Omaha poker tutor
5 card stud tutor
7 card stud tutor
Omaha Hi/Lo poker tutor

Now getting back to raw funk games. Not only do we have free pokies, but we also offer free video poker, free roulette, free baccarat, free keno and many other popular casino style games that as always are 100% free to play at raw funk games.

Also in the coming weeks we'll be writing guides for each of our available free casino games. This should provide some great information to all players who may like to try out other casino type games but didn't know how to play.

Apart from that, I think that just about wraps everything up. Least to say that if your looking for some screen captures and explanation about the pay-outs and playing rules, you may like to check out our our other site free aussie pokies

Well that's about it from me. Have a great week and catch you soon!

Free Pokies Game Images

Been a few days since my last post. Being the chief bottle washer and jack of all trades with Raw Funk Games it sometimes leaves little time to do other things. This was the in last few days. We've had a few people ask if we could add images of our free pokies. I was going to add these but didn't want to bog the page down with too many images, hence I left them on the back burner for the time being.

Anyway, thanks to those who contacted me as I've now set-up a dedicated web site just for images of our free pokie machines. Over the next week or two I'll be adding screen captures for both the free casino games & the free online poker games as well.

If you didn't catch the URL for the free pokies gallery this is it http://www.rawfunkgames.biz/

Enjoy!

Online Pokies & Aussie Slot Machines

Since our free games site opened we've been getting a lot of hits for people searching for free online pokies. These by the way are an Aussie slang word for slot machines. Pokies are actually multi-line bonus slots or if you prefer video bonus slots. Have I confused you yet? Anyway, getting back to the reason for this post.

Being a bit of a Pokies fan I thought it might be a good idea to write an article on slots machines, add some history about where they came from, who invented the slot machine and some other generalised background on the highly popular game of slots. Did you know that slot machines are the bread and butter for land based casinos? If your an Aussie you'll understand why all the RSL clubs, League Clubs, pubs and pokie venues can afford to have the plush surroundings.

Yep it's all thanks to those not so humble one arm bandits!

The date line 1894
San Francisco. Mr Charles Fey a mechanic from the small confines of his basement invented the first slot machine. He gave it the name of Liberty Bell. Apart from Mr Fey being a resourceful fellow he was also an astute business man. Within a short period of time Mr Charles Fey had contacted every casino and gambling house in San Francisco and was now renting his slot machine the Liberty Bell to each of these establishments.

In 1907 Mr Fey received an offer from the Mills Novelty Company to a partnership which he accepted. Over the years the
Liberty Bell would received a number of re-designs and upgrades, although fundamentally it still retained the same principles of the original slot machine. To mark a milestone for the Liberty Bell slot the Mills Novelty Company produced a line of slot machines that had elaborate head casts in shapes such as Indian Heads, Lions and other worldly identities. At the time the slot machine body had been produced in wood was now give a cast iron body. Adding the Liberty Bell was also made silent. It was then referred to as the Silent Bell.

Over the years like most things progress and demand has fuelled re-invention of the slot machine. The greatest influence to hit the slot machine industry was the micro chip. Companies such as Ballys, IGT and others developed slot machines that used a micro processor to operate the slot reels and pay-outs. However, back then these slots only consisted of 1 line, 3 line and later 5 line pay-outs.

Believe it or not but the Aussie Pokies were the main driving force behind the development of the multi-line bonus slots machines that are now available in both land based casinos and their online casino counterparts. These slots are more commonly known as bonus slots and are called Pokies or Pokie Machines in Australia.

Pokies generally offer free spins. The current pokie machines in Australia are now offering elaborate bonus rounds as well. Bonus slots consist of the standard 5 reels and range from 9 pay lines, 15 pay lines, 20 pay lines, 25 pay lines, 30 pay lines, 40 pay lines, 50 pay lines. Though the most common pay lines available on Aussie Pokies are the 20 line machines.
